ABOUT NO*BLOM - BSH/BLH CATTERY IN NORWAY
About US
Welcome to NO*Blom, our small and dedicated home cattery of British Shorthair and Longhair cats in Norway.
We are a FIFe/NRR-registered cattery, and our kittens receive a safe and loving start right in our home.
OUR STORY
From passion to NO*Blom
The story of NO*Blom began with McCatney, our very first British Shorthair. From our first meeting, we fell for the breed's charming expression, characteristic round features, and wonderful personality. What started as love for a single cat quickly evolved into a passion for the breed and a desire to share this joy with others.
McCatney also sparked our fondness for the beautiful cream color, which has since become one of our specialties. Shortly after, Eevee joined the family, and with her blue-tortoiseshell coat, she helped shape the cattery's color profile, with a particular focus on cream, blue, and blue-tortoiseshell.
With our third cat, Ginny, we aim to further develop our breeding program and eventually introduce chocolate and cinnamon in future generations. We also have ambitions to strengthen genetic diversity through carefully selected international breeding lines with no relation to our existing lines.
We regularly participate in cat shows, which provide us with valuable evaluations. Our breeding work is built on preserving and passing on the characteristic traits that make the British Shorthair such a fantastic breed.
Above all, our cats are deeply loved family members and a natural part of our everyday lives. It is precisely this combination of love for the cats and dedication to the breed that forms the foundation of everything we do at NO*Blom.
ABOUT US
The people behind NO*Blom
Behind NO*Blom are the two of us, Nora Nicolaisen and Ruben Kristiansen—two animal lovers who share our home, daily lives, and a great love for our cats.
I, Nora, grew up surrounded by animals and honestly cannot imagine a life without them. Even as a child, there were dogs and cats in the home, but I felt a particularly strong connection to the cats, and they captured a very special place in my heart.
Ruben shares my love for animals and is a dedicated supporter of the cattery. We work closely together on everything from socialization and care to participating in shows.
To us, the cats are much more than a hobby. They are little personalities who fill our home with joy, cuddles, and a healthy dose of entertainment.
OUR VISION
Responsible breeding with a focus on health and breed standards
We are proud to be an NRR/FIFe-registered cattery where quality and responsible breeding are our top priorities. Our breeding cats are carefully selected and undergo regular health checks to ensure our kittens have the best possible foundation for a long and happy life.
